Are you insured and bonded?

Yes, we are insured and bonded through Century Surety Company .

What type of pets do you care for?

We care for dogs, cats and most small house pets. 

 

Do you care for pets in your home?

Dogs On The Geaux! LLC does not provide pet boarding services in our home. Instead, we provide pet care in the comfort of your own home by visiting your pet multiple times a day. By providing service in your home, your pet is able to stay in his or her own familiar environment which greatly reduces stress and maintains their comfort and security. You decide how many times a day you want us to visit your pet and the length of those visits.

 

What is your service area?

Because we are a small pet care company, we provide service to Mandeville, LA only (70471 and 70448). There are areas within these zip codes that are outside of our service area so please contact us to make sure we can help you.

 

How do I establish service for my midday dog walking, in-home pet sitting, or cat sitting needs?

To start the process, please call us at (985) 210-8288, email us at dogsonthegeaux@gmail.com or use our Contact Us page. After gathering as much information as we can from you, we will then set up a required in-home pet care consultation. We do not normally accept any job until we have the opportunity to meet both you and your pet(s) in person.

 

Why is an in-home consultation needed?

Dogs On The Geaux! LLC and their potential clients need to have a mutual level of trust which is best determined by an in-person meeting. It gives us the opportunity to meet you and your pet, for you to get a sense of who we are and, ultimately, who will be caring for your pet and home. If service is agreed upon at this time, we will review our policies and fees, and receive instruction on how to care for your pet. Initial paperwork will also be completed at this time.

Can I find out how my pet is doing while I am away?

Certainly! We love providing pet updates via text messages, emails or phone calls. We will send pictures too! Pet updates are a big part of providing you with pet owner peace-of-mind.

Do you charge extra during the holidays? Which holidays?

Yes, we do charge a holiday fee of $5.00 extra per visit. For more detailed information, please see the "General Information, Fees and Policies" section on our Midday Dog Walking page or our In-Home Pet Sitting & Cat Sitting page.

 

Do you charge extra for medication administration?

Due to the level of responsibility that comes with administering medication to pets, we do charge a fee for medication administration as this is not part of our standard service. This fee is determined on a case-by-case basis. 

 

Would you mind also bringing in my mail, taking out our trash and watering plants?

Retrieving mail/newspapers, curbing trash/recycling, alternating lights/blinds is a complimentary service we provide. We provide limited plant watering as this can take away from caring for and spending quality time with your pet.

 

What happens if I return home earlier than scheduled from my vacation or if my return is be delayed?

These circumstances do happen from time-to-time. In either event, we ask that you notify us immediately by phone (985-210-8288) to discontinue or extend service. We do not give refunds or credits for early returns. If you need to extend your pet sitting or cat sitting service due to a delay, we will make every effort to accommodate your late return although extended service is not guaranteed. Additional fees in addition to our pet sitting and cat sitting rates may apply for extending your service.

What is your cancellation policy for midday dog walking, in-home pet sitting or cat sitting?

General cancellations made within 48 hours of your service beginning are subject to a cancellation fee that equals any visits scheduled on your first day of service. Cancellations made prior to 48  hours will not incur a fee. For our ongoing, weekly midday dog walking clients, cancellations must be made by 9AM day of service to receive a credit for the unused visit/walk. Cancellations made after 9AM will not be credited or refunded

 

What type of payment do you accept?

We accept cash or checks only. Payment is due on the first day of scheduled service. Checks should be made to Dogs On The Geaux! LLC.
